That time the Mum influencers hit Bestival hard
And how friendship can be a bit fickle in some circles
It was 2018, and the Hotbed book had just been released. We were invited to talk at ‘Bestival’ and Lisa and I headed off in her car.
I was excited- envisaging a lot of celebrities watching us discuss our book, hanging out with famous musicians, maybe finally getting one of those festival experiences you always see on social media (glittery make up/head dresses/frenetic dancing/lovely chums all hanging out together in harmony).
We were both nervous and didn’t quite know what to expect. I was wearing a khaki jumpsuit- perhaps not a great idea for a festival, but I wanted to look casual and not too middle aged. I ended up spilling coffee into my crotch in the car, so it looked like I’d wet myself. I hoped everyone would think it was rock and roll (like Bradley Cooper in ‘A Star is Born,’ ).
