A woman is rubbing foundation into her cheeks with a thick, glossy, pink handled brush. I have been watching her do this for ten seconds. I have the sound switched off but can see that she is now putting tiny dots of what looks like blush but could be contour cream onto her cheek bones. I pause the reel so I can see the name of the cream and take a mental note of it so I can Google later. I am interested in this contour but also know that it’s mainly for younger women. It would possibly amplify my sagging cheeks.

I’ll need to watch another tutorial on it first to see if this particular brand is good for women my age.

I turn the volume up and the woman is talking about how to apply eyeliner in the water line so it helps define the eye but also doesn’t look too ageing. ‘We want to lift the eye, not drag it down. We want to always think about lifting when we’re applying our make up.’
