Last year I wrote a book about work and how everyone was struggling to find the ideal balance of doing stuff they liked and also being financially okay.

I have always been the breadwinner and so I have had to fit my creative life around work. This has actually meant that much of the time I can’t write. I am too beholden to work that pays the bills. This is true of many people these days especially as the expectations of writers are far higher - not only should they write books but they should also host podcasts, offer online courses, attend panel events (I was discussing this with another writer today- how expectations in some circles are that you offer 24/7 entertainment and access to your brain - that it is all about you working on your profile/being interviewed on the right platforms as well as writing).
