Don't pick up your phone first thing
And other self-care tips when you're living in anxious times
Recently, I’ve been trialling something where I don’t pick up my phone first thing in the morning. This was after talking to a male colleague (an ex-colleague) a few months back who said that getting stuck into his phone first thing didn’t help.
It’s one of those behaviours that you know doesn’t help but you can’t help yourself. Like picking a spot when it isn’t ready. Like not buying Frontline for the cats and thinking ‘it’ll pass on its own.’ Like not having any savings so you are constantly in a state of panic whenever your job doesn’t work out.
